Here's your shopping list for the class:
150g unsalted butter
100g golden caster sugar
50g light soft brown sugar (you can use one type of brown sugar)
100g self-raising flour (or gluten-free self-raising)
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 medium-large eggs
A large tin of pineapple slices/rings in juice
A good handful of glacé cherries
(Optional treat: vanilla ice cream!)
You'll also need these bits of equipment:
A 20cm round cake tin
Mixing bowls and spoons
An electric mixer or whisk
