All you need to join the class is:
 

- A laptop, phone or tablet with Zoom installed

- A responsible adult to supervise throughout

- The simple ingredients and basic equipment in the recipe below!

So, how does this work?

Any time till 9AM BST on Saturday the 29th of May

You can sign up for this class on our Google Form any time before the closing date. You will receive an automatic Google email confirming that you have signed up as soon as you submit.

2.

Saturday 29th May, 12PM GMT

You will receive a full email with us, containing the recipe card, Zoom link, and tips and pointers.

Morning of Sunday 30th May

Prepare all of your ingredients and get ready to join us!

Log into Zoom, and join Chef Tim and junior chefs around the UK and the world as we kick off the summer with a fun and interactive Burger class!

Main Recipe: Loaded Burgers and Seasoned Potato Wedges

Deliciously juicy burger patties, served in our brioche buns, and topped with the works - bacon, egg, mushrooms, delightfully fresh greens, and a rich burger sauce. It's the flavour of summer - wherever you are!

For the burgers:

For two meaty burgers:

(Double if you're feeding the whole family!)

  • 450g minced beef (15% fat is the ideal)

  • 1.5 tbsp salt

  • 1 tbsp ground black pepper

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • A splash of Worcester sauce

  • 2 slices of Swiss, cheddar or your favourite burger cheese

  • 2 burger buns (we recommend brioche)

  • Butter for toasting

Fully load your burgers:

  • 2 large portobello mushrooms

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 4 rashers thick cut smoked bacon

  • A handful of rocket leaves

  • 1 ripe (plum) tomato

  • Salt and ground black pepper

For a rich burger sauce:

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise

  • 1 tbsp mustard

  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup

  • 1 tbsp sweet pickle relish

  • Pinch of salt

For the wedges:

  • 2 large potatoes (any type is fine)

  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper or paprika

  • Chilii flakes (optional)

  • Olive oil

  • Sea salt and black pepper

You'll need this equipment:

  • Plenty of bowls and spoons to mix

  • A non-stick frying pan

  • Knife and chopping board

Keen Junior Chefs: Make your own Brioche Burger Buns!

An optional extra recipe for the keen Junior Chefs among us - homemade Brioche burger buns! The rich bread tastes so good with our yummy homemade patties and burger sauce - and the process of making the buns is extremely rewarding!

You'll need to complete this the night before as the dough needs to rest - if you don't have time, any pre-made brioche burger buns, or your favourite white bread rolls from the shop will do just fine!

For the buns:

  • 250g plain flour (and extra for dusting)

  • 80g unsalted butter

  • 2 whole eggs, or 4 egg yolks

  • 1 tbsp dried yeast

  • 2 tbsp caster sugar

  • 80ml full fat milk

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • 1 extra egg yolk for glazing

You'll need this equipment:

  • A large mixing bowl

  • Another bowl for the yeast

  • Stand/electric mixer (optional)

  • A pastry brush for the egg wash (optional)
